The Municipality of Gortyna is organising a conference on the topic “The Asterousia Biosphere Reserve as a Hiking and Gastronomic Destination“, as part of the development of the “Asterousia Trails” network of hiking trails.
The project involves the creation and promotion of a network of 11 hiking trails in Asterousia, including signposting, mapping initiatives and promotional and information activities for residents and visitors, with the ultimate aim of protecting nature, strengthening nature-based tourism and ensuring the sustainable development of the area.
The event will take place at the Apesokariou Cultural Centre, on Sunday, 7 June 2026, at 11:00 , with the aim of informing the local community and the authorities in the Asterousia region.
