The Municipality of Gortyna is organizing a conference on the topic “The Asterousia Biosphere Reserve as a Hiking and Gastronomic Destination“, in the context of the creation of the “Asterousia Trails” hiking trail network.
The project concerns the creation and promotion of a network of 11 hiking trails in Asterousia with signage, mapping interventions and promotion and information actions for residents and visitors with the ultimate goal of protecting nature, strengthening nature-loving tourism and the gentle development of the area.
The event will take place at the Apesokariou Cultural Center, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 11:00 , with the aim of informing the local community and the bodies of the Asterousia region.
