Rural Tourism Cluster

The nationwide visitor survey on rural tourism conducted by the epaithros+ cluster is continuing

For the third year running, the Epaithros+ Rural Tourism Cluster is organising the annual Rural Tourism Survey, documenting travellers’ real experiences, needs and expectations.

Epaithros+ is the largest nationwide rural tourism network in Greece, bringing together businesses, organisations and professionals across the countryside who share a common interest in developing sustainable and experiential rural tourism and showcasing the authentic experiences, services and products of each region.

The survey was first carried out in 2024 in Crete, with 501 responses, and was repeated in 2025, with 1,187 questionnaires collected. This year, the survey is being conducted online nationwide and is the only survey in Greece that focuses exclusively on experiential rural tourism.

Its aim is to identify what visitors are looking for today, which experiences stand out, and which factors influence the way they travel. The data collected will be used to develop initiatives and services that enhance the sustainability, authenticity and development of local businesses and rural destinations in Greece.

Anyone who has visited any rural destination in Greece this year, whether on holiday or for a short break, is invited by epaithros+ to share their experience.
Participation is anonymous and takes just a few minutes.
