On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June 2025, the Idaion Network invites the public to a conference on the theme “The Art of Drystone: The Human Boundary between Nature and Culture”, which will take place in Anogia, in the “Georgis Klados” hall of AKOMM-PSILOREITIS SA – Information Centre of the Psiloritis UNESCO Global Geopark.
With the aim of highlighting local development through the integration of our cultural and natural environment, the conference’s thematic sections explore questions and best practices relating to issues such as:
- Drystone Constructions and Sustainable Development
- The Geology of the Site, Architecture and Drystone Structures
- Man and Stone – a relationship of balance between nature and culture.
- Second Life: The Reuse of Drystone Today.
- From Antiquity to the Digital Footprint.
The conference is organised by the Idaion Network, as part of the project “Information and Awareness-raising Activities for the Promotion and Protection of the Psiloritis Monuments and the Traditional Technique of Drystone Construction”, which forms part of the CLLD-LEADER programme run by AKOMM-PSILORITIS SA, and is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Anogia, with organisational support from the Cultural Organisation Androidus – Argastiri.
