On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June 2025, the Idaion Network invites the public to a conference on the theme “The Art of Drystone: The Human Border between Nature and Culture”, which will be held in Anogia, in the “Georgis Klados” hall of the AKOMM-PSILOREITIS SA – Information Center of the Psiloritis UNESCO Global Geopark.
Aiming to highlight local development through the synthesis of our cultural and natural environment, the thematic sections of the conference raise questions and good practices around issues such as:
- Drystone Constructions and Sustainable Development
- The Geology of the Place, Architecture and Drystone Constructions
- Man and Stone – a relationship of balance between nature and culture.
- Second Life: The Reuse of Drystone in Today.
- From Antiquity to the Digital Footprint.
The conference is implemented by the Idaion Network, within the framework of the project “Information – Awareness-raising Activities for the Promotion – Protection of the Psiloritis Monuments and the Traditional Technique of Drystone Constructions”, integrated into the CLLD-LEADER of AKOMM-PSILORITIS SA and is under the auspices of the Municipality of Anogia and the organizational support of the Cultural Organization Androidus – Argastiri.
