The AGTIS network for agrotourism and gastronomy is in the final stretch – Branding and promotion with resources from the Recovery Fund

*By Costas Chalkiadakis

The AGTIS network, one of the interventions of the Ministry of Tourism for the interconnection, branding and promotion of Greek agrotourism and gastronomy, has entered the implementation phase, with the relevant contract being financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund.

The intervention is part of the project “SUB4: Agrotourism and Gastronomy”, which has been included in the Recovery Fund since 2021 and is financed in parallel through the Public Investment Program.

The subject of the contract specifically concerns “Interconnectivity, branding, promotion and visibility of the AGTIS network”, with the Ministry of Tourism now proceeding with the monitoring and receipt of the services provided for by the agreement.

From tender to contract

An open electronic tender above the thresholds was announced in January 2025 to select a contractor. Two associations of economic operators, CHOOSE – BIRDIE and NEXT COM – DEMO POWER, participated in the process.

The tender process went through several stages, as there was a partial cancellation at the stage of evaluating the technical offers and a repetition of the process. This was followed by preliminary appeals from both associations that participated in the tender, while EADISY had temporarily suspended its progress and in particular the opening of the financial offers until it ruled on the appeals.

In April 2026, the way was finally opened for the evaluation of the financial offers and the selection of a provisional contractor. The association of the companies CHOOSE and BIRDIE was selected as the provisional contractor, which was then asked to submit the award documents.

The award of the tender followed in May 2026, while on July 14, the contract for the interconnection, branding, promotion and visibility of AGTIS was signed.

The bet on connecting agrotourism and gastronomy

The development of AGTIS is part of the broader planning for the “Agritourism and Gastronomy” product, with interest now shifting from the tender process to the implementation of the contract and the organized promotion of the network.

At this point, interconnectivity becomes particularly important, as the project attempts to acquire a unified identity and promotion mechanism, linking the field of agrotourism with the gastronomic experience under a common brand. The contract itself, moreover, identifies as key axes the interconnection, branding, promotion and promotion of the network.

A new decision by the Ministry of Tourism amends the composition of the Monitoring and Acceptance Committee of the contract. Its task is to monitor the provision of the envisaged services and draw up the relevant acceptance minutes.

The development essentially marks the transition from a long tender process to the operational phase of the project, with the aim of AGTIS now acquiring a recognizable identity in practice and functioning as a tool for promoting the country’s agrotourism and gastronomic product.
