As the new international destination that “comes to impress British travelers thanks to new direct flights”, Samos has recently been promoted by popular foreign media.
The Metro newspaper refers to the significant increase in demand that the island of Pythagoras already has in the British market in view of the new season, adding that “with golden sandy beaches, impressive ancient monuments and excellent wine, there are many reasons for Samos to become an object of worship in the United Kingdom”.
Metro urges its readers to tour the picturesque villages of the beautiful island, enjoy the gastronomy and live a unique experience of exploration and hiking on Mount Kerkis.

Travel Weekly is also moving in the same direction, ranking Samos in third place among the best destinations in the world with new direct connections to British airports. The list of the tourism website is completed by Seoul, St. Louis, Punta Cana in Mexico, Ottawa, Tirana, New Jersey and Nice in France.
At the same time, the Municipality of West Samos is currently working to promote the destination to highlight the range of possibilities of the destination through international information networks in view of the new flights.
“The sun and the sea are only one aspect of the experience that British travelers are looking for on our island. At the same time, there is great interest in the gastronomy, outdoor activities, tours and the rich historical reserve of the place. In this direction, we are exploring synergies with bodies such as the Greek National Tourist Office of Great Britain to promote alternative tourism,” adds the Deputy Mayor for Tourism of the Municipality of Western Samos, Vangelis Marnezos.
