On March 20, 21 and 22, 2026, the 8th Pan-Cretan Traditional Cooking Competition will be held at the Crete International Exhibition Center, at the American Base of Gournes, organized by the Chefs Club of Crete, with the aim of highlighting Cretan gastronomy and the local products of the island.

The event aspires to be a point of reference for the culinary world of Crete, showcasing the authentic local cuisine and the creativity of professional and young chefs. At the same time, it highlights the potential of Cretan gastronomy in a period where gastronomy is a key pillar of culture and tourism development.

Professional chefs, cultural associations, cooking schools, gastronomy students and school students will participate in the competition, presenting creations inspired by Cretan cuisine and utilizing the quality of local products.

The participants will be evaluated by a committee of renowned professionals in the field, in an environment of high standards that promotes knowledge, creativity and noble competition.

As part of the organization, parallel events and live presentations by cultural associations will also be held, strengthening the connection between gastronomy and the tradition and culture of Crete.

It is worth noting that the event is part of the broader framework of actions for the promotion of Crete as a Gastronomic Region of Europe for 2026, strengthening the international visibility of the island as an important gastronomic destination in the Mediterranean.
