“Our aim is to promote Karpathos as a high-quality destination and to carry out projects to upgrade the island’s basic infrastructure and improve the quality of life of its residents,” as the mayor of Karpathos, Michalis Fellouzis, points out.
In this context, the Municipality of Karpathos has secured substantial funding of 2,800,000 euros from the Ministry of the Environment and Energy for the procurement of a permanent desalination plant, which will ensure a permanent and adequate water supply throughout the year, providing 2,000 cubic metres of water per day to the town of Karpathos. At the same time, through these permanent desalination units, a supply of 300 cubic metres of water per day will be guaranteed for the local community of Aperi, Karpathos, throughout the year, substantially improving the adequacy of the water supply in the area.
