Invitation for the participation of businesses in Crete in the rolling quantitative Survey of Critical Sector Enterprises (SCSE)

The University of Crete and the Region of Crete, jointly, are implementing the Project entitled: “Regional Mechanism for the Diagnosis of the Labor Market Needs of the Region of Crete” (RMDLMN), with the aim of capturing the situation and development of the labor market of Crete, identifying the weaknesses and pathogens of the market and formulating proposals and interventions, particularly in the direction of training.

The RMDLMN of the Region of Crete is an innovative research project and the first Regional Mechanism for the Labor Market in Greece. Additional information about the research and the Project can be found on the website pmdaae.crete.gov.gr. The Scientific Director of the Project is Professor Michael Taroudakis of the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics of the University of Crete.

Within the framework of the RMDLMN, a Survey of Critical Sectors Businesses – SCSE (sectoral surveys) will be conducted. More specifically,

from the most critical sectors of the economy of Crete (processing, construction, trade and tourism),

TO DECLARE PARTICIPATION IN THE EECT

More specifically, the Region of Crete invites Cretan enterprises that are profitable and develop MAIN activity in the sectors:

Processing with emphasis on the Food, Beverage and Product Manufacturing Industry (two-digit KAD 10.x, 11.x, 23.x, 25.x, 31.x)

Manufacturing (two-digit KAD: 41.x, 42.x, 43.x)

Trade (two-digit KAD: 45.x, 46.x, 47.x)

Tourism: Accommodation and Catering (two-digit KAD: 55.x, 56.x)

to register for participation in the SCSE research panel at the following link no later than 31/3/2026:

By completing the requested information and indicating a specific contact person, who will be responsible for participation in the SCSE. The TERMS OF PARTICIPATION in the SCSE are posted on the link, which you are invited to read carefully before proceeding with the expression of interest.

The expression of interest does not automatically imply participation in the SCSE. Of the businesses that will express interest, those that will meet specific geographical and economic criteria according to the sample specifications will ultimately be selected. If your business is selected to be part of the sample, you will receive direct information from the Market and Entrepreneurship Research Unit of the University of Crete regarding the completion of the relevant questionnaire via electronic mail.

The SCSE will be repeated on an annual basis for the year 2027 (3rd research cycle). Data collection will be done asynchronously, via an online questionnaire. The data collected will concern the demography of the businesses, their financial characteristics and their activity, the composition of their staff, their needs in professions and skills and their opinion on the economy and the labor market and their prospects.
