The University of Crete and the Region of Crete are jointly implementing the project entitled: “Regional Mechanism for the Diagnosis of Labour Market Needs in the Region of Crete” (RMDLMN), with the aim of assessing the current state and development of the labour market in Crete, identifying the market’s weaknesses and underlying causes, and formulating proposals and interventions, particularly in the area of training.
The RMDLMN of the Region of Crete is an innovative research project and the first Regional Labour Market Mechanism in Greece. The Scientific Director of the project is Professor Michael Taroudakis of the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at the University of Crete.
As part of the RMDLMN, a Survey of Critical Sectors Businesses – SCSE (sectoral surveys) will be carried out. More specifically,

More specifically, the Region of Crete invites Cretan businesses that are profitable and carry out their MAIN activity in the following sectors:
Processing, with a focus on the food, beverage and product manufacturing industry (two-digit KAD codes 10.x, 11.x, 23.x, 25.x, 31.x)
Manufacturing (two-digit KAD: 41.x, 42.x, 43.x)
Trade (two-digit KAD: 45.x, 46.x, 47.x)
Tourism: Accommodation and Catering (two-digit KAD: 55.x, 56.x)

By providing the requested information and naming a specific contact person who will be responsible for participation in the SCSE. The TERMS OF PARTICIPATION The SCSE guidelines are available via the link; please read them carefully before submitting your expression of interest.
Expressing an interest does not automatically mean that you will take part in the SCSE. Of the businesses that express an interest, those that meet specific geographical and economic criteria in accordance with the sample specifications will ultimately be selected. If your business is selected to be part of the sample, you will receive direct information from the Market and Entrepreneurship Research Unit at the University of Crete regarding the completion of the relevant questionnaire via email.
The SCSE will be repeated on on an annual basis for the year 2027 (3rd research cycle). Data collection will be carried out asynchronously, via an online questionnaire. The data collected will relate to the demographics of the businesses, their financial characteristics and activities, the composition of their workforce, their requirements in terms of occupations and skills, and their views on the economy, the labour market and their future prospects.
