“GREEN BUSINESS IN CRETE”: Call for applications for funding

The Action aims to support investment projects of existing SMEs in the Region of Crete to integrate environmentally friendly production processes, efficient use of resources and reduction of their environmental/energy footprint.

In particular, investment projects will be supported that, as a priority, facilitate the transition to climate-neutral and environmentally friendly production processes, that adopt practices that enhance the efficient processing and use of resources and encourage the recovery and utilization of by-products and waste materials in the production process.

It concerns the support of existing very small, small and medium-sized (SME) enterprises of the Region of Crete, which are substantially active for the period v 1 -2 from the submission of the application (Main KAD and/or KAD corresponding to the largest gross revenue according to the current E3 form of the year n-2) to eligible KADs from the call (ANNEX III – ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES (KAD)), for the integration of environmentally friendly production processes, efficient use of resources and reduction of their environmental / energy footprint and the investment concerns existing installation(s) of the enterprise within the Region of Crete which the enterprise has before the publication of the call for action.

It is noted that a proposal for an installation that the enterprise does not have before the publication of the call for action cannot be submitted.

It is also noted that the proposed investment plan should concern exclusively those active in the Tax Office and eligible, according to Annex III – ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES (KAD) of this, activity code number in the place(s) of implementation of the investment.

The subsidized budget of each investment proposal of a potential aid beneficiary may range from €30,000 to €300,000.

It is further noted that the amount of the subsidized budget of the investment plan may not exceed twice the highest turnover [code (500) of the tax form E3] of the enterprise achieved in one of the two complete closed management years for which the appropriate tax forms have been submitted to the Public Administration Authority for the tax years (n-3 year) and (n-2 year) of the years preceding the submission of the funding application (year n).

In the event that the submitted investment plan has a subsidized budget of less than €30,000, then it will be deemed ineligible from the outset and cannot be submitted.

The total of the requested expenses submitted by the enterprise, for funding from this Action, constitutes the Total Budget of the investment plan. The Subsidized Budget is the part of the Total Budget which, in accordance with the conditions of eligibility of expenses, the upper/lower limits as well as the percentages and amounts of their support, within the framework of this Action, can be subsidized.

It is noted that, in the event that the Total Budget of the investment project is greater than the Subsidized Budget, the excess amount will be considered a 100% private participation for the implementation of the project. In this case, although the excess costs are not subsidized, the entire investment project, including the excess costs, is subject to evaluation and monitoring – control.

Aid under this action is granted pursuant to the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2023/2831 (OJ EL L 15.12.2023) of 13 December 2023 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid.
