The ESCAPE2 project offers free training to those involved in rural tourism!
ESCAPE2 at “Supporting the Development of a Transnational Thematic Tourism Strategy for Rural Areas of Europe” is a European project (Erasmus+) which aims to support the development of a transnational thematic strategy for rural tourism in rural areas of Europe. It was implemented between 2020 and 2023, and the main objectives of the project were:
- addressing the challenges faced by rural areas, such as unemployment, low productivity, social and economic isolation and marginalisation,
- supporting the creation of innovative tourism services that integrate local culture, the natural and cultural environment, gastronomy, traditional products, etc., and
- the development of skills and competencies among rural tourism operators to improve services, marketing, communication and sustainability
Based on the programme, a series of thematic training modules A number of resources have been created covering various aspects of rural tourism, with the aim of raising awareness and providing practical tools for those interested in tourism development in rural areas.
The thematic modules are available online and free to watch, in nine languages, including Greek. The thematic topics they cover are as follows:

- Module 2 – Different Models of Rural Tourism: The tourist product
- Module 3 – Rural Tourism Business Strategy
- Module 4 – Stimulating demand
- Module 5 – Accessing resources
- Module 6 – Collaborations and communities

- Module 8 – Digitalisation and Commercial Availability Online
- Module 9 – Accessibility and Inclusiveness
