The participation of the Rural Tourism Cluster epaithros+ and the travel platform Rural Greece in the 11th Amari Green Festival, which took place from 23 to 26 July in the Municipality of Amari, was successfully completed.
The presence of epaithros+ at the festival was an important opportunity for communication, networking and highlighting the potential of the Amari region, with an emphasis on local routes, businesses, people and collective initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the countryside.
As part of the festival, the epaithros+ held a spatial meeting, with a keynote speech by Dr Chryssa Pagalou, General Manager of ETAM S.A. and Coordinator of the epaithros+ Cluster, entitled “The epaithros+ Cluster and the Rural Greece platform visit the Municipality of Amari”. The event took place on Saturday, July 25, at the PANAKRON Estate, as part of the spatial meetings implemented by the epaithros+ in areas of Crete, while Manolis Psaroudakis, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Amari and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Psiloritis Geopark Management Body – a member of the Cluster, also warmly participated in the speech.
During the presentation, the role of epaithros+ as a modern tool for collaboration, networking and promotion of the countryside was highlighted, as well as the possibilities offered by the Rural Greece platform for highlighting authentic experiences, routes and the special characteristics of each place. At the same time, the possibilities for the participation of local bodies and professionals in a dynamic network that strengthens local identity, cooperation and the connection of rural communities were presented.
Participation in the 11th Amari Green Festival confirmed the importance of extroversion, collaboration and highlighting the comparative advantages of the hinterland of Crete. Through actions such as this, epaithros+ and Rural Greece continue to support the Greek countryside, showcasing the people, landscapes, cultural heritage and business initiatives that form the basis for a sustainable and resilient development future.
The project, entitled “Rural Tourism Cluster epaithros+”, is being implemented under the “Research-Innovate” Action of the “Competitiveness” Operational Programme of the NSRF 2021–2027 and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national resources.
