
The Action is part of Priority 5 of the Just Development Transition Programme which, among other things, finances interventions identified through integrated territorial strategies. Specifically, it falls under intervention category 5.1 “Quality of life and integrated development interventions in urban and rural areas” and concerns sustainable mobility project interventions within the framework of the Integrated Spatial Investment Strategy (ISI) entitled “ISI of Emblematic Routes of Crete / Environment and Culture”.
Sustainable mobility project interventions within the framework of the Integrated Spatial Investment Strategy (ISI) of Emblematic Routes of Crete / Environment and Culture.
Intervention areas are defined as Municipal Communities that:
- are included in the administrative boundaries of the areas included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (Psiloritis and Sitia Geoparks, Asterousia and Lefka Ori Biosphere Reserves), and/or
- are located within the administrative boundaries of the six Minoan Palatial Centers of Crete, which are candidates for inclusion in the UNESCO List.
The Just Development Transition Program intends to co-finance projects of Emblematic Routes of Crete. The individual actions to be implemented are included in the Integrated Spatial Investment Strategy entitled “ISI Emblematic Routes of Crete / Environment and Culture” and concern the projects:
- Routes of Psiloritis Geopark, in the Municipality of Anogia.
- Network of hiking trails, in the Municipality of Sfakia.
- Routes/Trails of Lassithi Regional Park, in the Municipality of Sitia.
- Routes/Trails of Asterousia, in the Municipality of Gortyna.
- Aesthetic and functional upgrade and promotion of the settlement of Sougia (Municipality of Kantanos – Selinos).
- Upgrade of passability, safety and promotion of the path of Agia Irini (Municipality of Kantanos – Selinos).
- Via Ferrata of Asterousia, in the Municipality of Gortyna.
- Walking route connecting the archaeological sites of Knossos with Ano Archanes, in the Municipality of Archanes – Asterousia.
Projects 1-4 and 6 focus on the creation of an integrated network of hiking trails in UNESCO areas, enhancing access and safety for tourists and connecting areas of environmental interest and ecotourism infrastructure.
The interventions include the upgrading and improvement of the passability of existing trails, with gentle interventions and the placement of distinctive signage.
The aim is to facilitate touring in the hinterland and mountainous settlements, in order to upgrade the environmental and nature-loving experience and to highlight the natural and cultural beauties of these areas.

Submission period: from 16/01/2026 to 31/12/2026
Proposals are submitted via the OPS at the electronic address http://logon.ops.gr from 16/01/2026 at 14:00 until, exclusively, on 31/12/2026 at 14:00, by the legal representative of Beneficiary.
The Beneficiary, after the successful submission of the proposal, is informed accordingly via the MIS. In cases of documents for which electronic attachment/submission is not technically possible (e.g. maps, plans, etc.), the beneficiary is obliged to send them to the Special Management Service/EF at the address: Merlin 5, ATHENS 10671, within 10 working days from the date of electronic submission of the proposal by the Beneficiary
Proposals will not be accepted outside the above deadlines.

The MA may modify the total amount of the co-financed public expenditure of this call or proceed with a justified revocation of the call, informing in each case the beneficiaries through the relevant website www.eydam.gr.
