The “Cretan Hospitality” action, as part of the remit of the magazine and the news portal “Cretan Business”, is organising an event focusing on hospitality and experiential tourism for another year.
The 5th Conference, co-organised by the Municipality of Sitia, the Panhellenic Federation of Hotel Managers (PODIX) and the Sitia Development Organization, is being organised this year in Sitia, on Saturday, 18 October 2025, under the title “Hospitality & Experiential Tourism”, with its main theme being the interplay between hospitality and the life experiences that Crete offers its visitors.
Sitia, with its unique identity, is a perfect example of a place where hospitality is not merely a service, but a way of life. The conference aims to provide a platform for local people who shape everyday experiences through respect, quality and a love for their local area.
Through presentations, examples of best practice and discussions, an attempt is made to highlight the role of the human factor, local culture and genuine interaction in the new model of tourism that is taking shape.
Experiential tourism and hospitality are not merely linked – one is an integral part of the other. In fact, hospitality is the “soul” of experiential tourism.
The “Cretan Hospitality” initiative is being implemented with the support of local organisations, businesses and tourism professionals who believe in a model of tourism centred on people and authenticity.

- To strengthen the the link between tourism, culture, tradition and the primary sector.
- To create a space for dialogue and cooperation between professionals, local authorities and the community.
