10th Amari Festival: July 18-21, 2025

In the heart of Crete, where the slopes of Psiloritis meet the historic villages of Amari, the Amari Green Festival celebrates its 10th edition this year, from 18 to 21 July 2025. Four days full of activities, concerts, experiential workshops, tours, cinema, games, flavors and stories, in a festival that spreads from village to village and transforms the entire Amari valley into a large, open cultural and environmental laboratory. The festival began ten years ago with the aim of highlighting the natural and cultural capital of the region and creating networks of cooperation between organizations, associations, artists and residents. Today, the Amari Green Festival is an established institution for Crete, and this year it is growing even more: more than 40 events are organized throughout the Municipality of Amari, with the participation of local organizations and visitors from all over Greece, but also abroad.

This year, the Amari Green Festival travels back in time and recalls images, sounds and stories from the old festivals of Crete, with the theme “Beautiful in the villages with beautiful festivals”. Through a diverse program that spreads across the villages of Amari, the institution honors the roots of the local celebration: the spontaneous evenings in cafes and squares, the community tables, the sounds of the lyre and the generations that danced hand in hand. With photography exhibitions, experiential workshops, culinary revivals, narratives, round tables and concerts, this year’s festival becomes a celebration of memory and culture, highlighting the festival not only as entertainment but as a profound social and cultural experience that unites communities and transmits the wisdom and joy of ancestors to future generations.
